Jake Walker
is an outstanding New York City based blues guitar player, singer, and
bandleader. With a guitar and vocal style that draw on the deep feeling
and soulfulness of the blues, Jake “easily bears comparison to the
intensity of blues greats like Otis Rush, Freddie King, and Peter Green...he
has that same quality that makes you shiver...he strikes crowds with blues
fever”. (Dordrecht News, The Netherlands, November 2006). Jake began
his full-time career in the blues with JSP and Alligator Records recording
artists James and Lucky Peterson, in the Tampa, Florida blues scene. Working
six nights a week in dive bars, clubs, and small festivals up and down
Florida’s Gulf Coast, Jake paid his dues in the time-honored blues
tradition.

| When
trying to sift through the many genres that make up the Music Biosphere,
if not careful, one can easily be swallowed by the droves of bands trying
to pass off their harmony-laden, verse-chorus-verse songs, for true "Rock
and Roll". Luckily for the skeptics seeking more than just run-of-the-mill
power pop, Scott
McCurry
has arrived.
Scott McCurry and his band are an electrifying lineup that have embodied
the rock n' roll spirit onto a new generation.
"...a throwback of sorts to the glory days of '80s college radio,
McCurry and band at times sound like they're playing English pop with
an American Accent. entertaining tunes and a new, yet familiar, sound."-
K. Oliver (Free Times- southcarolinaarts.com)
Perhaps it is unfair to use the phrase "Just Arrived", considering
Scott has just released his third record, a six song EP entitled "Birdies
Don't Bark", and has been bringing raucous, energy-filled live performances
to beer-swilling audiences across the country, for the past five years.
From underground clubs in Dallas and New York to the celebrity-studded
Sundance Film Festival in Utah, Scott has earned a loyal fan base abroad.
